The story of Amaro Rubino started a few Christmases ago when, partly for fun and partly for pleasure, Matteo Rubino began creating liqueurs to give as gifts to friends. Time passes and he perfects the art of mixing herbs, designing and printing labels, choosing unlikely names, filling bottles that empty very quickly. That’s how he gets his taste: ‘I want to create a bitter’

To make it, he gave himself two creative years of almost obsessive experimentation and perseverance, during which he researched pre-alpine herbs, tracked down and got to know small local herb growers, and fine-tuned the recipe. It is always his friends who suggest the name: ‘Simple, isn’t it? You made it, name it after yourself’. This is how Amaro Rubino came into being.
