The Ferrazzi and Cova School of Agriculture Foundation“It was founded in 1938 at the behest of Francesco Ferrazzi who, as an inquisitive and far-sighted farmer, wanted to create a place where ‘young agricultural scholars could experience the teachings of science in the practice of the fields’ and also where they could ‘raise the level of professional culture of the farmers so that they could and would know how to profit more from the land for their own benefit and that of the country’.
Upon his death, Ferrazzi donated all his possessions to set up the Foundation, which bears his name along with that of his wife.
Over the years, the Foundation has always continued to perform the tasks assigned to it by its founder: first as an agricultural vocational school (1935-1963), then as a middle school (1963-1977), and finally hosting the G. Mendel Higher Education Institute in its facilities (since 1988).
